Exciting happenings at MCPL!

Just like many high school and college students around our region, MCPL staff are graduating this spring! We would especially like to congratulate to our newest Library Associate Training Institute graduates! This statewide program helps teach library associates how to provide information services. Graduates attended the May 11 ceremony with their managers and Director Hamilton.

Congratulations to a very special group of new U.S. citizens: 34 individuals from 27 different countries were sworn in as U.S. citizens at a ceremony held at the Gaithersburg branch on June 1.

Thinking about becoming a citizen? MCPL offers many resources for potential new citizens. Learn more about citizenship classes in Montgomery County, language-learning resources at your library, and books to help you.

In November, in addition to the services listed above, there will be a collection of nearly
20,000 items including children's materials, DVDs and CD books. The library staff have worked hard to prepare this wonderful space where our Wheaton community can access quality library services and programming, while we all enthusiastically await the completion of the wonderful new 21st century, state-of-the-art library and world-class community recreation center.
