Meet MCPL

Beth Chandler has been a Librarian II with Collection Management for the past two years and has worked at several MCPL branches in the past 5 years, mostly Silver Spring and Aspen Hill. She currently selects books and DVDs, including many on her personal interests: gardening, crafts, music, psychology, and graphic novels. Other highlights of her careers in libraries and publishing include starting the first anime and manga programs in the Anne Arundel County library system, hosting dozens of storytimes and craft programs, and writing three easy readers. She is married to a fellow nerd and has a mischievous cat who is curious about any new books she brings home.

Barbara Chomycia began her career with MCPL in 2011, working as a Page at the Germantown branch before going on to be a Library Aide at the Rockville Memorial branch. She has been a member of MCPL’s Outreach Team for one year. Before coming to MCPL she worked for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools for several years in Virginia and also for three years in Germany. She has volunteered for many years at the Mary Surratt House museum in Prince George's County as a costumed historic interpreter. She enjoys sharing the history surrounding the 1865 assassination of President Lincoln.

Leucadia Osorio started working at MCPL in 2006 as a page at the Germantown branch. Following a promotion, she worked at the Silver Spring branch for four years before transferring to the Marilyn Praisner branch. She is now a Library Assistant I at the Wheaton Interim branch. Leucadia has also worked at the Library of Congress as a library technician. She likes to play tennis and dance to Latino music in her free time.
