I am pleased to announce that MCPL now has an Assistant Facilities and ADA Program Manager, which was a goal in our MCPL’s FY2017-2020 Strategic Plan Elizabeth Lang began her assignment as the Assistant Facilities and ADA Program Manager in November of 2016. Her duties include strategically assisting in planning for, coordinating implementation of, and evaluating and monitoring new and existing library services that provide accessibility for persons with disabilities.
As the Assistant Facilities and ADA Program Manager, Elizabeth will:
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve assistive technologies such as “ADA computers,” to further develop the services offered at the Accessibility Resource Centers at Rockville Memorial and Silver Spring branches.
- Coordinate system-wide programming efforts on accessibility and outreach to the relevant communities.
- Assist in coordinating MCPL’s efforts with the State of Maryland and the County’s ADA Compliance Manager on accessibility services.
- Actively work with library branch managers and other staff to gather feedback on services, and assist in providing recommendations on system-wide decisions on equipment and Branch Refresh designs.
Please join me in welcoming Elizabeth to MCPL. We will keep you updated on our progress as we expand services to persons with disabilities.
