Seasoned Spellers Senior Spelling Bee 

Register now for the Seasoned Spellers Senior Spelling Bee this fall and get a head start on the competition. The Bee will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11 AM at the newly refreshed Davis Library. Adults, age 55 years and older, are invited to participate. The top speller will take home a grand prize. Pre-registration and a $25 non-refundable competitor fee is required. The Bee is free to attend and contestants are encouraged to bring friends and family to cheer them on.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival

FOLMC opens the three-day F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival with a luncheon featuring environmentalist Dr. Robert Musil on October 19, at 11:30 AM at the historic Strathmore Mansion. Dr. Musil is the President and CEO of the Rachel Carson Council and has written on a range of topics, including global environmental policy, climate change, and the unique environmental features of Washington, D.C. The F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival will honor Annie Proulx, acclaimed author of Brokeback Mountain. Friends of the Library, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Strathmore members receive reduced ticket prices. Purchase tickets today.
