From the Acting Director

We had a blast this summer! Our Summer Read and Learn program, which ran from June 1 to September 10, had many exciting events and activities. This year's theme was "Build a Better World." It was great to see everyone getting involved with the varying programs with topics including science, music, health, early literacy, animals, and storytelling.

Many of you participated in our solar eclipse programs on August 21. It was the first total solar eclipse in 99 years that was visible from the East Coast to the West Coast. In Montgomery County, the peak eclipse coverage was about 80%. Keep those glasses handy, another eclipse is coming in 2024!

Copies of our Check Us Out: Calendar of Events for September – November 2017 are in the branches. Stop by, pick up a copy, and check out all the great programs happening this fall. You can also access our Calendar of Events online.  

I am delighted to announce that beginning the week of October 15, our Kensington Park, Little Falls, and Twinbrook branches will have added hours.  The new service hours for all three branches will be:  Monday – Thursday 10 AM – 8 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM.
