Meet Library Matters

Julie Dina
Julie Dina is one of the hosts of Library Matters. She started working with MCPL as a part-time circulation staff member in 1997, while she was still in college. Once she graduated, she left to work full-time with the United States Senate. When Julie realized she still loved and missed working at the library, she came back to MCPL at the very first opportunity to work with the information staff as a part-time Library Associate. She recently accepted a full-time position as an Outreach Associate so that she can continue to spread the good news about MCPL resources and services. Julie really enjoys spending time with her family, praying, baking, and attending events.

Adrienne Miles Holderbaum
Adrienne Miles Holderbaum is the co-producer of Library Matters. She began her career with MCPL as an Outreach Library Associate at Rockville Memorial Library in 2012. Since then she has worked at MCPL's Gaithersburg, Long Branch, and Kensington Park branches. Adrienne is now a Senior Librarian at Olney. In addition to librarianship, Adrienne has a background in marketing and publishing but her true love is public service and connecting to people. She enjoys reading a little of everything but mostly nonfiction (business, technology and biographies). When Adrienne is not working, spending time with her family, or reading a book, she is probably listening to a podcast while driving, walking her dog, cleaning, or falling asleep. Her current favorite podcasts include Library Matters, The Daily, Innovation Hub, and Dirty John.

David Payne
David Payne is also a Library Matters host. He joined MCPL in May, 2017 as the Branch Manager at Davis Library. He was previously an Assistant Branch Administrator with Frederick County Public Libraries, and has also worked for public libraries in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cleveland, Ohio; and West Palm Beach, Florida. David is from London, England. After gaining his bachelor's degree in history from Teesside University in Cleveland, England, his marriage to an Ohio Clevelander saw him swap one Cleveland (and one country) for another. David holds master's degrees in library science and library management. In his spare time, David enjoys photography, and working with his son on their 8’x 4’ model railway layout, which takes pride of place in the basement!

Mark Santoro is the other Library Matters co-producer. He joined MCPL in 2007 as a librarian. He has worked at the Davis and Potomac branches. He currently works in the Digital Strategies division of MCPL. Digital Strategies is responsible for MCPL's website, social media presence, the staff intranet, and other digital duties as assigned. He enjoys reading, running, and cycling. He has 1 wife and 4 children. His favorite podcasts include Library Matters, Afford Anything, The Mad Fientist, and Freakonomics.
