Library Lovers Month
FOLMC will host a family-friendly Library Lovers Month Kickoff at the newly refreshed Aspen Hill branch on Saturday, February 3, at 11 AM. The event will feature an interactive STEM show and a hands-on booth “Bubbling Potions and Explosions” by the Science Guys of Baltimore.
MCPL provides a variety of STEM resources and offerings year round that help foster a love of science and exploration. Branches and FOL chapters will host special events and activities to celebrate all month long.

Save the Date for Library After Dark
The FOLMC Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the Library Professional of the Year Award has been named in honor of former library director, Parker Hamilton, who retired earlier this year. Hamilton had worked for Montgomery County for almost 37 years and served as MCPL director for 12 years.
The B. Parker Hamilton Award will be presented at the annual Library After Dark Gala on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Rockville Memorial Library. This year we will celebrate the theme of Stories from the Stacks. Libraries tell the stories of our community, offering a broad range of free services to all children and families; a place where we can learn, gather, and create new stories together.
Join us for the celebration, beginning at 7:30 PM, with an evening of entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, cocktails, mystery door prizes, awards ceremony, and more.
