The Gaithersburg branch of MCPL is located at 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue in
Gaithersburg. It was reopened to the public in 2014 after an extensive renovation and expansion. It is now a 21st-century library offering services for job seekers, new Americans, students, seniors, and young children.
Let's meet some of the Gaithersburg staff -
 |
Jen Meddings |
In the third grade, Jen Meddings was assigned the task of making a shoebox diorama of "what I want to be when I grow up." She made a tiny library. She was in it, of course, as the tiny librarian. She has been with MCPL for five years and currently serves as the Head of Adult Services. Over the past decade, she's also worked as a circulation clerk, a library associate, a children's librarian, and a bench jeweler (that one wasn't in a library). She owns the world's cutest dog and enjoys reading past her bedtime and hanging out with friends playing board games.

Brian Rochester |
Brian Rochester is an Adult Services Librarian who joined Gaithersburg Library last year. He enjoys graphic novels, history, classic literature, video games, and pop culture. Brian enjoys sharing his knowledge with the diverse customers who visit the library and looks forward to continuing his work with Gaithersburg customers.
Laura Sarantis has been a Teen Library Associate with MCPL since 2007. She loves serving Gaithersburg's diverse customers and enjoys bringing innovative STEM/STEAM programs to middle grades kids. Este año ella comienzo aprender español, con la ayuda de sus magnificos companeros de trabajo.
Cindy Schweinfest has been with MCPL since 2014. Prior to that she worked at Baltimore County Public Library and then at the Charleston County Public Library in South Carolina, where she managed the Technology Learning Center and the Mount Pleasant Regional Library. She enjoys cooking, especially baking cookies, cakes and breads.
Not surprisingly, cookbooks are among her favorite “good reads.”Labels: February 2018, Meet MCPL
