Meet New MCPL Branch Managers

We are delighted to introduce the new branch managers for Davis, Little Falls, and Potomac libraries. While they are not new to MCPL, they are taking on brand new assignments for which they are all well equipped. Please join us in wishing them well.

Carolyn Bogardus began her library career by volunteering at a local public library in southern Texas (her husband was transferred to that area in 2002, so she left her job in the banking industry to join him). In 2005, she was hired as the director of that library, and in 2006 she enrolled at the University of North Texas in Denton. She graduated in August 2007 and continued to work in Texas until moving to Maryland in 2012. Carolyn was hired by MCPL in August 2014 and worked as a senior librarian and acting manager. She recently was promoted to branch manager and assigned to Little Falls. She considers herself most fortunate to have had the opportunity to pursue a career change in mid-life. She loves libraries and feels she has discovered her true passion. When not working, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, including her 12-year-old grandson. She also loves boating, reading, yoga and traveling.
Potomac Branch Manager Lunden Gillespie
Lunden Gillespie

Lunden Gillespie recently rejoined the MCPL team in September of this year after working with the system from 2014-2016 as an Outreach Library Associate. In that position, Lunden gained experience working with and building relationships in the community by providing outreach, in various forms, to communicate all of the wonderful programs, services, and resources MCPL has to offer. In 2016, Lunden accepted a position with Prince George’s County Memorial Library as a Librarian III, where she managed a small branch. She has returned to MCPL as the  branch manager of Potomac. Lunden is an active member of the Maryland Library Association, participating mostly in the Conference Committee as the Social Committee Chair. She spends her free time reading, or listening to, books, planning, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. Her latest obsessions are her Happy Planner, Diamond Embroidery, and new Presa Canario puppy, Axel!

Davis Branch Manager Steve Warrick
Steve Warrick
Steve Warrick joined MCPL in 2013 after working as a librarian in West Virginia. Since 2014, he has been the branch manager at Maggie Nightingale. Steve had the pleasure of being part of some significant events with MCPL, including the reopening of Olney, the 25th anniversary of the Poolesville Library, and the renaming of Poolesville to the Maggie Nightingale Library in honor of its biggest advocate. Steve recently became the manager at Davis. Prior to MCPL, he spent his time on some of the bays and backwaters of the East Coast, along the Ohio River in Kentucky, and within Central and Western Maryland, conducting oral histories and folklore fieldwork. Outside of the library, he enjoys being outdoors and walking his dog. Of course, Steve enjoys reading. His current interest is debut novels.
