Meet Technology Management

Our Technology Management (TM) staff keeps MCPL's hardware and catalog humming. TM is responsible for maintaining the hundreds of public and staff computers in all of our branches and offices, as well as our loaner laptops. They also provide the technical support for our catalog and desktop applications, cloud services like Sirsi and supporting servers for Pharos and access to leased database services such as Kanopy and National Newspapers.
Scott Kegley

Scott Kegley was born in the District of Columbia, spent his young adult years in Prince George’s County, and currently resides in Carroll County Maryland. As a child, he spent most of his spare time in libraries and volunteered in his school libraries as often as they would allow him. He bugged the head librarian at his local Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) branch so much that she eventually gave him a job as a library page.  His 1st pay check was a whopping $20 which he thought was cool. Who knew you could spend time in a library and make money too!  He went from library page to a full time circulation desk worker while attending college.

Then a funny thing happened, the library got funding to automate the card catalog system and he read the fancy computer manuals that no one else seemed to understand or care to look at. It wasn’t long before he started sending ideas for the transition to the newly created IT manager who urged him to apply for a newly created position of IT supervisor. After serving 17 years at PGCMLS, Scott joined MCPL in 1998. He hit the ground running, working the technical aspects of converting MCPL from the old Carl system to SIRSI. Several years later he was promoted to his current position of IT manager. One of his pastimes includes caring for a paddling of ducks and drakes, some are pets, some are rescues, all are loved.

David Delgado joined the MCPL family in July 2015, serving as on-site tech for Silver Spring.  Since then he has enjoyed meeting the MCPL family, branch by branch, assisting with MCPL technology needs. Now on-site at Rockville, David continues to aim to be a reliable and dependable member of the TM team.  If he's not at his desk, he's most likely sneaking in some steps.
