Meet the New Manager of MCPL's Digital Strategies Office

Digital Strategies Manager Maddie Hines
Maddie Hines joined MCPL this December as the head of Digital Strategies. Before joining MCPL, she was the digital services manager at Prince George's County Memorial Library system. Her work in the past has focused on designing modern and accessible web spaces, as well as researching and incorporating emerging technology into branch programming. Passion projects include launching permanent Oculus Rift stations in Prince George's County Libraries, directing and producing a Summer at Your Library rap video, and leading a Digital Humanities project preserving oral histories for families in Maryland.

Looking forward, the MCPL Digital Strategies department will be redesigning the library's website, overhauling MCPL's social media content, and starting a Digital Innovation Team. Outside of work, you can catch Maddie most likely wearing all black, listening to very loud music, and showing strangers pictures of her cat at DC9 or the 9:30 Club. Fun fact: In her former life, Maddie played guitar in a feminist punk band, but now enjoys the dulcet tones of a Moog or Juno synthesizer.
